Rules for RVU units

RVU units

RVU = Residential Ventilation Unit, air handling units with nominal airflow below 250 m³/h

In the case of small ventilation units, other requirements apply to the actual product - similar to the large unit but with an additional requirement for energy labelling, as with refrigerators, etc.
The requirements mainly relate to information and the energy label:

The following information must be shown:
  • The unit's annual energy consumption (kWh/m² per year, negative value)
  • Output of the used heat recovery system
energilabel

In addition to energy labelling of the system, a large amount of information must be available, both on the Internet and provided with the unit. The idea of the energy label is that it helps customers to decide on the best solution in terms of energy consumption and price.

Requirements 2018
SEC (specific energy consumption) Less than -20 kWh/m³ x year
Room sound output (LWa) 40 dB
Variable speed Minimum 3 speeds or variable
By-pass function Thermal by-pass
Filter warning Visual signal
