Measurement method
The sound output level is measured in accordance with IEC 60704-2-13 and converted to the sound pressure level at a sound absorption level in the room of 10 m2 Sabin.
Sound measurements are made as described in Building Regulations 95, Appendix 9 in 2 or 3 positions around the centre of the room at a minimum longitudinal distance of 1.5 m. The distance to the room surface must be at least 1.0 m.
Measurement set-up
The drawing shows the measurement setup in a reverberation chamber for determining the sound output level of the ESL cooker hood as a function of pressure and damper setting. This measurement method gives a sound level corresponding to a measurement in a kitchen at a distance of 1 m from the front of the cooker hood.
