Choose a more climate-friendly refrigerant
VEX4000 with integrated heat pump is now available with the more climate-friendly refrigerant R454b
When you order the VEX4000 with integrated heat pump, you can now choose the much more environmentally friendly refrigerant R454b. This applies whether you choose a module with or without an integrated rotor - and is available for all VEX4000 sizes.
Why switch to R454B?
Reduced carbon footprint
By choosing R454B as the refrigerant in your VEX4000 heat pump, you are taking a concrete step towards a more sustainable building. R454B has a global warming potential (GWP) of only 466 - a significant improvement over the previously used R410A, which has a GWP of 2088.
This represents a 78% reduction in climate impact, a difference that is really noticeable when looking at the total carbon footprint of the building's operation over time.
Same high performance
At the same time, you still get the same high performance and reliability that EXHAUSTO solutions are known for. In other words, the R454B delivers both climate and comfort - without compromising on functionality, durability or energy efficiency.
Are there any disadvantages?
R454B is classified as highly flammable, but our tests show that it is extremely difficult to ignite R454B.
In addition, we have added extra safety to the EXcon automation: RDE (Refrigerant Detection & Evacuation) ensures alarm and venting in case of leakage.
The solution is therefore fully on par with R410A, also in terms of safety.
