EXact2 control system VEX200

General

EXact2 control system

Behind the simple operating panel, the advanced EXact2 control system ensures optimum operating economy. The control system is easily matched to the daily rhythms of the user location, e.g. school, office or home.

EXact2 control system features

- Simple operation
- Three user modes, two with access codes (technician and specialist)
- Several indoor climate levels and a built-in weekly timer allows on-demand ventilation
- See more selected functions in the function overview.

Operation of the control system

The EXact2 control system can be operated from the control panel (see section "HMI control panel" below), BMS or a web server via a network or WAP (Wireless Access Point).

Wireless Access Point (WAP)

WAP is a small WIFI router mounted inside the control system in the unit. It allows the web server to be accessed wirelessly via PC, smartphone or tablet, so the unit can be configured quickly and easily via mobile platforms.

HMI control panel

EXact2

HMI2-350-TOUCH control panel

The control panel is a touch panel that provides access to the standard daily operating interface.

Technicians and specialists can access the more advanced menus and parameters via a 4-digit password.

User interface

HMI-for-EXact2-automatik

The user menu is for daily operations. It shows visual symbols to indicate the unit's status and provide information.

The interface allows the user to temporarily change the temperature and ventilation level.

The very useful help texts displayed in the yellow area minimise the need for manuals and instructions. Help texts are available  in both technician and specialist modes.

Alarms are shown by a bell in the display. You can click on from here to get information about the specific alarm.

The help texts can be found under the menu items in the technician and specialist menus.

Display icons

Display information is much easier to understand because of the simple graphical elements.

Web server

The EXact2 control system is supplied as standard without Web server. Purchase of the Web server gives access to the following additional features:

  1. The unit can be monitored and configured using a local PC.
  2. The unit can be connected to a local area network (LAN) and controlled by a PC connected to the LAN.
  3. The unit can be connected to the internet and controlled by external PCs.

The only requirement is that the connected PC has a browser The Web server is password protected.

The Web server user interface is designed in the same logical fashion as the control panel. Uniformity makes the system easy to use. The overview display is configured and ready to monitor the ventilation system. The Web server can send an email in the event of an alarm, log data, etc.

Connection to BMS unit

As standard, the Web server can communicate with Modbus RTU RS485, BACnet MSTP or BACnet IP. Thus, a BMS unit that uses one of these communication platforms can be easily connected to the unit.

Converting to other protocols

Via the Web server, the units can be connected to other BMS units with other protocols via a converter (gateway). If the converter has been purchased, the following options are available:

1.    MLON - Module for converting to LON
2.    MTCP - Module for converting to Modbus TCP/IP

Cable dimensioning

VEX200

The electrician installing the unit is responsible for ensuring that all sizes used are compatible with current legislation and regulations. The VEX200 series heat recovery units have a built-in isolation switch and automatic fuses which safeguard the air handling units internally against overload and short-circuit.

The HCE after heating coil has a built-in isolation switch and the control system has short-circuit protection. In the HCE, internal cables and heating elements have short-circuit protection via a fuse in the distribution board (not supplied by EXHAUSTO).

Maximum short circuit current (lcu), in accordance with EN60947.2 is 10 kA.

Maximum fuse rating is 63 A and G/gl.

Accessory types MHCW, MCCW, MXCU and CP do not require separate supply cables and can be connected directly to the control system box of the VEX200. Terminals (U1, N) may only be used with the above mentioned accessories, and can have a 2 A maximum load. A maximum of 1 MHCW (after-heating) and 1 MCCW/MXCU (cool) may be connected. The EXact2 control ensures that after heat and cooling can not operate at the same time. HCE-type accessories must have a separate power supply.

Maximum phase current is the dimensioned current for choice of cable. Cable should be dimensioned according to maximum neutral current if this is greater than the maximum phase current.

Equalising connections

Equalising connections must be established between the VEX and HCE types of accessories (or after heat).

Fitting of fault current breakers

If fault current breakers are fitted to the installation, these must be of a type which comply with the following requirements:

a) VEX240 / VEX250 / VEX260:
PFI-breaker type A in compliance with EN61008, which disconnects when fault currents are detected with DC content (pulsating DC)
b)  VEX270:
PFI type B breaker in compliance with EN 61008, which breaks the circuit when a fault current with DC content (pulsating DC) or smooth fault currents is registered.
c) maximum break time must be 0.3 sec.

The current leakage can be up to 100 mA.
