Two plants for Fynsværket

Fynsværket’s ambitious green transition requires energy-efficient and environmentally friendly ventilation solutions with a focus on premium quality and good operating economy
Project ID
In connection with the green transition, Fjernvarme Fyn has built a new biomass-fired power/heat plant block. The block is fired with wood chips and can supply 160 MW, or the equivalent of 30,000 households’ annual heating requirements.
The large construction dissipates a lot of heat in switchboard and electrical rooms. To ensure that the components do not overheat, EXHAUSTO has supplied two VEX200 compact units with rotating exchangers that supply fresh air to these rooms.
The solution delivers exactly the amount of fresh air required for cooling. The cooling is not only precise and stable, but also significantly cheaper than traditional refrigeration systems.
At the same time, the ventilation systems contribute to the cooling of the rooms in a significantly cheaper way than traditional cooling systems.
Tendered as a specialist contract
Mads Skov Hansen from Fjernvarme Fyn has been the project manager for the building part of the power/heat plant block. He explains that the installations have been tendered by specialist contractors and that special emphasis was placed on quality and price when selecting components.
Mounting the unit
Airteam in Esbjerg won the ventilation contract and was responsible for installing the two EXHAUSTO VEX200 compact units in 2022.
