CAV – constant ventilation

Airflow is constant:
CAV is the simplest form of ventilation control.
CAV corresponds to a single on/off clock that, for example, switches the unit on at 07:00 and off again at 17:00.
The clock and weekly schedule control on/off of the ventilation unit.
Any clock can be overridden via a switch or motion sensor.
We recommend CAV when:
- There is a uniform need for ventilation
- There is a low fluctuation in the person load
- There is a low fluctuation in the heat load
Examples of this are:
Copy rooms, corridors and toilets

The solution - pros and cons
Benefits
- Low-cost installation
- Easy to use controls
Cons
- Same airflow in all rooms, regardless of load
- Higher energy consumption
